revitalising still in progress

last night just before sleeping, i suddenly rmb this Petals around the Rose game that Thomas told me about. i remembered he said smtg like... the smarter u are, the longer u take to solve it. despite being very sleepy and about to fall asleep, i still went on to take a look at it to see what kind of game it is. tried 10 guesses, went on to read what happened when Bill Gates was introduced to the game in 1977, and then i solved the puzzle. tat's quick isn't it? less than 15min, including reading that long story. hmmm... so am i dumb?? well, yc solved it pretty quickly too and he believed the faster u got it the smarter u are. haha... so i guess i'm not tat dumb after all! =P aniway if u haven't tried the game and decided to have a go at it, good luck to you! the solution is really quite -_-"... heh.

hmmm... ok, nothing too interesting is happening in leicester right now if u are wondering. ah fang just left for heathrow airport.... hmm, taking emirates. good luck to u girl... hope u and ur luggages are SAFE!!! and later, i'm 'forced' to watch star wars episode 4. =P haha... hopefully i wun fall asleep~ >_< (jac, the conversion operation has begun without ur help. heh..)

well... so far so good. this is realli quite a good place to relax right after exam... away from the (relatively) fast-paced london to a much more serene and spacious small city. the air is fresher and more breatheable, and the slower pace of life makes it a good relaxing place. and of cos, the company here is one of the most comfortable and genuine one i can get. realli thankful for it. ^^

BBQ

i kinda noticed an interesting trend. during exam preparation period, bloggers will either blog very seldomly because of obvious reason - mug lar!, or will blog alot.. mayb as a way to relieve stress, or a way to communicate with the outside world whom they have lost contact with, or they simply spend too much time at home and there's nothing better to do. haha... oso, readership tends to go up during exam preparation period. reasons shud be more or less the same as above. yeah...

k that's not realli an important or useful point to note. onli being random. =P

yesterday we had a BBQ. we bought the disposable kind of 'pit', 2 for 3 pounds... not that bad a deal right... although the weather was relatively warm, it wasn't exactly the best day to have a BBQ. i think we spent more than an hour trying to just make our first pit 'burn'. wasn't tat successful thanx to the strong wind and unlucky factor. haha... so a 2nd one was started and the fire was beautifully spread across the entire aluminium tray. hence BBQ finally started! ^^

there wasn't many variety of food to BBQ actually... gigantic chicken drumsticks (which were always uncooked on the inside, lol!), lamb chop, hot dogs, onion rings and marshmellow!!! yUmMy!! we finished 2.5 packets of marshmellow!! crispy on the outside, melted on the inside. *slurp* haha.. yeah, and on top of the BBQ food, kenneth's gf made pasta and fish fingers for us and bernard's gf made drumlets!! oOoOoh.. so yummilicious!! haha... had another bloated day right after buffet yesterday.. hmmm...

it was fun even though i do wish it was slightly warmer... nonetheless, like what they said, it does feel like a chalet! haha.. the BBQ pit was outside the 'chalet', separated by the transparent sliding door from the living room where the rest were watching TV.. familiar scene eh?

aniway on a side note, paiseh for mentioning this so many times but i'm realli excited abt it! haha... 10 out of the 17 episodes of my 镜中人 are completely downloaded!!! the other 7 are also halfway there oredi.. YiPeEeEe!! cant wait to start watching... but i still cant find episode 11-13. =(

leicester at last

im finally in leicester after postponing the trip twice! haha.. yalah, had a mad rush in the morning carrying my backpack to harrods to get krispy kreme, then faced the delays on the piccadilly line, then not too sure of the way to the victoria coach station, and finally onto the coach which drove off even b4 i had the chance to put down my stuff and catch my breath. a good first work out right after exam. haha.... all bcos of my very last minute packing. spain trip, sweden trip, and now.... i always seem to pack so late into the morning and end up having less than 4 hrs of sleep. bad habit.

yeah... then fell asleep on the coach, as usual. heh... woke up halfway and saw those lovely wild yellow flowers in the field!!! ooooh... so beautiful!!! for those who went for the brownsea trip last yr, they r the ones we saw and took picture with!! yaaa... so nice... so pretty!! reminds me of those flower fields we would see in the taiwan or hongkong shows!! lovely~

hmm... didn't realli do much today lar... walk until my whole body ache tat's all. haha.... duno if it's realli bcos of the distance or just that my body is not fit enough to even walk. nvm. then dinner was treated to this restaurant called 'Flame' which have a buffet of all sort of chinese food and a bit of other stuff... sweet and sour pork, chicken in satay sauce, beef with black bean sauce, fried rice, fried noodle, hor fun, sushi, jelly, and yummy coconut milk!!!! piangz.... i eat until my stomach and jeans both on the verge of exploding man. to think that i was thinking of slimming down after exams.... >_< but it's a damn good meal. thanx for the treat!!! ^^

i'm done

haha... i know u have already guessed what my next blog entry would be. and i'm not going to disappoint u!! hahaha... YES!!!! i'm DONE!! My exams are over!!! wOoOoOoohOOoOoOo~~~!!!!!

it wasn't quite as 'high' a feeling as i would have had, if i studied harder. cos i didn't do tat well for the last paper... hence it was quite a mixed feeling when we were finally told that time's up. unhappy that i didn't do well, sneh from the overworked brain, and more of relieved than happy that exam is over. so my advice to u if ur exam hasn't ended is.. study for at least the last paper!! so that u can happily celebrate the end of ur exams...

yeah... exam is over... the sudden relief from the stress kinda make me unstable for a little while. but of cos i'm ok now! haha... ani more worrying would be done in late august when i'll obediently open the letterbox everyday to check for overseas mail. heh. hmm... shall do a little evaluation of my papers later bah... so that i can rmb how i felt for each paper and when i see my result, i'll either overjoy or sulk expectedly.

so... that's it. 26May2005. the end of half of my tertiary education. how fast time flies... >_< Good luck to all those who are still having or will be having exams! You can have all my luck... not to say i have alot this year. =P still... all the best!! ^^

the last one

wheeeeeeeee...... yeah!!! just ONE MORE paper.....ONE MORE!!!!! wOoHOooOo!!!!!

haha.... even though i left 40% of the paper blank just now.... i'm now realli happy and relax!?? haha... yeah i haven't started EIC revision and that doesn't make me any less stressed, but i think i'm leaving that thought behind for a little while. ^^ at least i'm not going on any brownsea or bath trip just b4 my EIC exam like last year... haha.. i'm normal this year! LOL!

dumpty dumpty dum.... lalalala.... haha, k i tink i've gone mad for a little while again. but this time it's out of a happy reason and not a stressed one. =P

oh oh... before i forget... lemme share a GOOOD NEWS!! haha.... i've found the bittorent for my favourite spore chi drama serial 镜中人 (beautiful illusion)!!!! i found it by luck on sunday evening actually... wasn't even thinking about it when it just appeared right in front of my eyes. yeah, so that helped alot in relieving my stress then. haha... i'm SOOoOOooO happy.... but, episode 11-13 are missing leh. duno why oso... ya, so if there's anione who's crazy about the show enough to want the episodes as well, lemme know b4 i watch and delete them off my laptop k?? (miangz... u horrigible!!! want to piss me off with the show rite.... HA HA.. now i'm going to HAVE the show liao!!! heh heh... u want to watch again or not.... ;P )

and... what other ways to find a fren's blog than thru yahoo search... and the search was actually on 'beautiful illusion'~ k i know i'm obsessed with that show even b4 watching it... but no i'm not the one who searched for that. i merely clicked on the link which lead someone to my blog. a feature of statcounter if u know what it is. otherwise, hmm... just accept the fact that i didn't do tat!!! haha... yalah, and that link led me to so many other blogs who've mentioned that show in one way or another and i manage to find a fren's blog from there!!! heh... such small world eh... =P

A little preview to a heat transfer exam question:

haha... am 'I' too obsessed with heat transfer calculations?? Who would spend so much time and brain power just before drifting off to sleep to calculate if the water will freeze. I'll probably fall asleep before reaching the answer.. which i almost did. =P

i'm sorry...but i terribly feel the urge and need to vent my stress and frustrations once more. =P so for those who are going to have exams soon or in the middle of it, i would recommend u stop reading here so that what comes next wouldn't add on to your unnecessary stress.

i had felt a little better yesterday after one whole night of zuobo-ing. but the lousy feeling returned after a little random chat with huiyuan... knowing that the other sporeans regard yesterday's paper as an easy paper, a 'must-kill' paper, didn't help alot. and yeah... the brits didn't find it tough too... so there goes my hope of moderation. one low pt. looked thru the paper again... i realize i missed out answering one part of a question! sigh.. why must they lump so many questions into one paragraph!! yalah... another low pt. then i look at the breakdown of marks for the entire exams... its weightage was quite high. yet another low pt. finally i try calculating the potential amount of marks i could get.. and found out that... i need to score about 124 marks out of the 120 marks Paper 2 if i were to secure an A. What's the probability of that happening?? dun tink u need any maths knowledge to know right... sigh.

yalah... feeling upset about it again. tried studying for my Paper 2 but somehow my mind is not realli in a very clear state. it's a vicious cycle larh. sigh.

if now u r tinking that i'm making a big fuss out of all this.. hmm... yeah probably i am. but then, it's kinda the first time i felt so bad from a paper. that i know very well that i could have done it easily but yet i didn't, for whatever reason i dun realli wanna find out. yalah. hafen ever felt so down over a paper b4. =(

but.. if u r starting to get a little concerned, pls dun worry. cos it's just that the stress has reached its peak for the day and i cant help it but write it down in my blog to... erm... 'release' it? so i'll b sane and fine later. no worries. it's just exam stress.. everyone had been thru it right? yalah...

thermofluids paper I

i intend to leave any evaluation of any paper till after the entire exam is over. but... OMG!!! i realized i made ALOT of mistakes for today's paper!! really ALOT!!! didn't know i make so many until i check the notes and txbk. i dun usually do that... but i'm so uncertain about today's paper and since they are really the if-u-study-u-will-get-it-right-out-of-the-txbk kind of answer.. i simply feel the need to take a look. and... to my horror... i made alot of mistakes. *CRY* just now when i just walked out of the exam hall, i only thought 'hmm.. didn't do too well. but still ok bah... onli 2 out of 15 qns cannot do totally. so even though got a few other little parts of a few qns that were left blank... hopefully still can manage an A?' and so i felt pretty relaxed since it's the weekend!! but now... piangz. i think i got the whole of section B wrong, except for mayb the first qn. and alot of the 'little parts' of Section C oso wrong. WRONG!!! *wAaAAAaAaaAah* sigh. felt damn lousy now. *wail* =(

blame it that i didn't study hard enough?? maybe... but in the first place they shouldn't have combined 3 modules into one freaking paper!!!! oh.. and i think i learned the wrong ting too. i thought it's gonna be derivation for the whole paper, like last year. All calculations should be left to Paper 2!! so in the end... the calculations i did today were based on a few months old memory, depending on when i did that topic's tutorial. I've already said that I haven't studied for next week's papers mah... ya.. and many of the terms used and asked of us in the paper are all unknown characters... >_<

*worry*

sigh... i know what's done cannot be undone. feeling pretty disappointed and down now. *sulk* guess i can only depend on the shifting of the curve... but then again, my coursemates didn't find this a difficult paper. I don't find it difficult too... if only i studied the right thing. sigh.... SIGH!!!

I really haven't touched anything for the 2nd week's. so... after Fri's paper, i'll have to CHAO BIA CHAO BIA CHAO BIA!!!!! although the fact that it's nearer to the holidays mean i'll usually tend to slack more.

hmm. yah... and like wat most of us have concluded... the difference between this and last year is that we are much more relac in our studying (cant do past yr paper then just look at solution and learn lor..... panic for wat) but we are much more worried just before stepping into the exam hall cos we know we are not that well prepared at all. hmm... yeahlor.

grrrr...

it's not just panic anymore. finally stress settle in as i study stress analysis. AAARGH.... i am clueless, am lost, have no idea whatsoever at the problem in front of me. i'm getting crazy... i've been making lotsa random noises... i know jac tinks i'm crazy. I AM! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah....

and.... when i'm crazy over this... DON'T TALK TO ME. cos my brain is totally tinking of 'why on earth this is divided by 2'.. or 'how is this eqn used' or 'wat the hell is going on!!'...... so whatever u say is not really going to be registered in my mind and whatever my response is to u is simply automated, without any thinking involve. i.e. i snap at u. yeah.... i'll SNAP at u for disturbing my tots..... no no, u wun even b disturbing... cos i wouldn't realli know u talked to me.... GRAAAAAAR........

blur me

my alarm clock was set to 9am... intend to make it for the 10am clinical tutorial. in the end... i was so drowsy when i woke up that i juz couldn't get out of bed till 10.20am... managed to rush and make it to school b4 11am.

looking into the LT from the back door, cos i was late as always, there is a lecture going on.... but where is the familiar Dr Crane?? What is Mike Bluck doing in there teaching thermodynamics?? *confuse* thinking that the Yr 1s lecture had not ended... i loitered outside the LT for a while... at the same time, wondering where is Godwin?? He wouldn't have missed any lecture but he's nowhere to be seen even though it's 11.10am oredi... decided that the lecture is cancelled and hence left for the computer lab. met Sachit on the way, he was waiting for a lecture too... after some discussion, we concluded that we were one of the ten (thereabouts) blur ones who came for a lecture that wasn't scheduled in the first place. lecture today shud b from 1-3pm.

urrggh... how clever can one get. -_-"

*2 hours later*
lol.... i received a call from chihyang at 12.10pm to tell me that there was a lecture going on right then... how blur i am!! gRAaAr... >.< nvm, it's the last monday lecture of my Yr 2... it's ok to be blur. =P

10..9..8..7..6....

weichuen and suzi are now in my kitchen 大显身手！today they will be making paella for my household's dinner!!! wheee.... and just now, suzi just made 'appetizer' - 葱头饼, er... some spring onion pastry tingy?? looks like roti prata one... hmm... k lar, i duno how to describe. but it's SEDAP!!!! *yummy* muy bien!!

hmm... talking about food, div(height of stack of JUNK food piled on the little table near my door)=a large constant. haha.. kk sorry tat was too geeky. not even sure if i applied the 'div' correctly. aniway, it simply means that the pile of junk food on my table is continuously growing bigger and smaller at a very fast rate... eat eat eat, buy buy buy, eat eat eat, and so on... and since i've only been sitting at the table and only doing some workout by walking occassionally to school, my weight has been on the rise too. it has hit the maximum it ever reached and doesn't seem to stop... >_< nvm... i shall console myself that i will be 'working out' more after exams and will get back to normal again. hopefully.

10 more days to my first paper. hmmm. surprisingly i have not made any panic post on my blog yet. i rmb last yr, i was soooo freaking panic to the point where i was even scare tat i might fail the exam, not to mention about meeting the bond criteria. but this year... even till now, i still feel quite relax leh. not that i'm prepared, not that i'm not worried about failing. but, these tots were just pushed to i-duno-which-part-of-the-brain. i just dun give a damn for them. which is REALLY weird. i am no where as prepared as i was this time last year, and this year's work is definitely not just a-level's revision work. where did my panic went to? where is my sense of urgency?? haha.... am i enjoying my single room too much? or i've stressed myself out for a good first half of the academic year that i'm so worn out and numbed that exams dun seem that big a deal anymore? in a way... i am worried for feeling not worried. but... again, i dun seem to realli give a damn. graaaar.....

on another note, it's realli a fantastic feeling that in just 3 weeks time, i'll be enjoying myself like mad!!!! hahahaa.... have been looking forward to it for 9 months!! finally it's here... hmmm... so in 3 weeks time, i'ld have completed half of my tertiary education. alamak, so fast! nvm... shall leave all these to later. =P

right... so next week is the last week b4 exams, last week of yr 2 revision lectures and tutorials. Also the last week to chao pia, the last week to burn midnight oil (k i cant do tat... i'll still fall asleep anyhow). It's also the week my last report is due.... and on the day b4 my 1st paper, i'm gonna have my first meal with the PUB CE and some officers and of cos the other scholars in London. what good timing. but i guess a good meal b4 exams is worth looking forward to right? ;) *think positively! haha...*

yAy~ so jac will be flying back this weekend!!! provided she didn't change her flight that is. haha... yeah i do enjoy my single room... but somehow it does feel a little 'empty' in the house leh.. not a complete feeling i guess. yeah! so... i am looking forward to her coming back. ^^ oh oh... haha... jac, thanx for remembering my Darlie toothpaste!! haha... it was only a random request then... didn't expect u to rmb. *touched* =) erm, hopefully Darwin & Wallace still look good when u come back... >_<

hmm... have spent damn long typing this long blabbering post. haha... hope it has not wasted too much of ur precious supposedly-for-mugging-time. wish me luck and instil in me some sense of urgency. i still feel too relaxed. =P

早睡早起身体好！

Just read an email and decided to post it up... hopefully it will inspire you to leading a healthier lifestyle...? haha... if any medics read this, maybe can give some comments as to the accuracy or validity of it?? ;)

The main causes of liver damage are:

1. Sleeping too late and waking up too late are the main cause.
2. Not urinating in the morning.
3. Too much eating.
4. Skipping breakfast.
5. Consuming too much medication.
6 Consuming too much preservatives, additives, food coloring, and artificial sweetener.
7. Consuming unhealthy cooking oil. As much as possible reduce cooking oil use when frying, which includes even the best cooking oils like olive oil. Do not consume fried foods when you are tired, except if the body is very fit.
8. Consuming raw (overly done) foods also add to the burden of liver.
9.Veggies should be eaten raw or cooked 3-5 parts. Fried veggies should be finished in one sitting, do not store.

We should prevent this without necessarily spending more. We just have to adopt a good daily lifestyle and eating habits. Maintaining good eating habits and time condition are very important for our bodies to absorb and get rid of unnecessary chemicals according to "schedule."

Evening at 9 - 11pm : is the time for eliminating unnecessary/toxic chemicals (de-toxification) from the antibody system (lymph nodes).This time duration should be spent by relaxing or listening to music. If during this time a housewife is still in an unrelaxed state such as washing the dishes or monitoring children doing their homework, this will have a negative impact on health.

Evening at 11pm - 1am : is the de-toxification process in the liver, and ideally should be done in a deep sleep state.

Early morning 1 - 3am : de-toxification process in the gall, also ideally done in a deep sleep state.

Early morning 3 - 5am : de-toxification in the lungs. Therefore there will sometimes be a severe cough for cough sufferers during this time. Since the de-toxification process had reached the respiratory tract, there is no need to take cough medicine so as not to interfere with toxin removal process.

Morning 5 - 7am : de-toxification in the colon, you should empty your bowel.

Morning 7 - 9am : absorption of nutrients in the small intestine, you should be having breakfast at this time. Breakfast should be earlier, before 6:30am, for those who are sick. Breakfast before 7:30am is very beneficial to those wanting to stay fit. Those who always skip breakfast, they should change their habits, and it is still better to eat breakfast late until 9 - 10am rather than no meal at all.

Sleeping so late and waking up too late will disrupt the process of removing unnecessary chemicals. Aside from that, midnight to 4am is the time when the bone marrow produces blood. Therefore, have a good sleep and don't sleep late.

镜中人

When Marvin first came back from Singapore.. he mentioned a Chinese TV serial '镜中人'(Beautiful Illusions). Fann Wong is starring in it. That was all I know... hmm... pretty interested to watch cos I usually like Fann Wong's show. (But i'm not her fan... haha...)

But after reading Irwin's blog just now, which provided slightly more info abt the show... OMG!! I WANNA WAAAAATCH!!!!!!!!!! hahahaha... know why??? My favourite actors are ALL INSIDE!!! k... not all.....but at least i like the two male leads!!!! THOMAS ONG AND QI YU WU!!!!! oh man..... wat a show!!! how can i miss!!!! >.< I WANT TO WAAAAATCH!!!!!! =(

*5 mins later* oh no.... juz read more abt the show from the mediacorp website. even the storyline is interesting!!! *sob* I REALLY REALLY WANNA WATCH!!! *cry* HOW!??? 我的王田裁和戚玉武．．．　aaaaah.......
