ski tripi'm back from ski trip a few days ago, but have been busy since arriving back in london at 6am, instead of the predicted 10am. was busy with unpacking my stuff, cleaning my room and getting ready for the arrival of cairong. after which, spending most of my time with her and resting.
the ski trip came too fast... and ended too fast. b4 i knew it, i was in the coach on the way to the alps soon after rushing back from a useless lecture in the afternoon. there were lots of stops along the way which, although made the 17hr coach ride seemed much shorter, was pretty unwelcome when i was in a deep sleep and had to wake up for the toilet break. =P but soon the snow capped mountain was seen and the awesome view of the layer of snow cover on everything was simply breathtaking. never knew that i could actually be present at where i thought could only be seen from tv and postcards.
the first day of skiing was exciting yet demoralizing. i was so eager to learn how to ski... yet my fear and nervousness hindered my learning. many were already flying down the slopes steadily as though it wasn't their first time... but there i was, falling at every possible area on the nursery slope. i was so tensed my skis couldn't even slide down the slope even though i was
trying to move. conclusion of the day: skiing is not my kind... it's not enjoyable, it's painful. >_<
second day was much better. took lesson in the morning and from the little exercises done sliding down gentle non-threatening slope without falling, my confidence grew a little. with that little more confidence, i skied down a relatively much steeper slope which the instructors brought us to. was quite nervous abt the sudden 'jump' in level.... but i managed to muster enough courage to go down steadily and wheeeee... it was fun!! finally got a feel of how skiing is like.... and i enjoyed that lesson totally. conclusion of the day: happy to have improved and not fall down at every attempt to ski. skiing is fun~ and i'm sure i'll do better the next day. ;)
the third day's lesson was immediately upgraded from the nursery slope next to the resort to a real slope: ramy - the easiest blue slope there. of cos, we didn't ski down the entire journey... i was right when i said the whole of that day's lesson is for skiing down that slope once. a slope which pple usually finish in less than half an hour, we skied down it just once. for the few parts where the gradient looked really steep, we either side slide down, walked down, skied down steadily, or skied down at great speed and fell. of cos i fell many times... but somehow there were soo many slopes of different gradients that it reached a point when i couldn't be bothered about the steepness that much and would just ski down with not much consideration, unless of cos the slope was suddenly of a significant gradient, at which my legs would then start to wobble again. conclusion of the day: yay i finally skied on a real slope!!! however i'm still quite scare and uncertain about my skiing ability... hope to improve more!!
fourth day was fully spent on ramy again... went down it thrice. gained much more confidence when i finally skied down the entire slope falling just once or twice.
fifth day morning b4 lesson, cw led edwin, melvin and me to explore new slopes. capella, pollux, mira and dou du praz all in one morning, all in 3 hours! amazing~ more unbelievable for me was the fact that i only fell at the very most twice for each slope! unknown ones somemore!! i was very pleasantly surprised and of cos, enjoyed myself very very much from the company. it was a moral and confidence booster. however it was very tiring for me, both mentally and physically. so much so that when we went on another new blue slope, samba (or isit pavane? cant rmb), after the afternoon lesson, i lost control totally and fell like nobody's business. i blamed it on the darkness and the lack of people as well, cos we were the last people on the slopes, having to be chased by the wardens. haha... but it was quite a traumatising experience, and my confidence dropped all the way to zero once again. but i must say, it's still the most fruitful day... and i really do enjoy that day alot.
sixth day morning is the last morning to ski b4 we return to london. just cw and me, the two of us. =) we didn't explore any new slope due to my drastic drop in confidence. not just that, the few slopes which i conquered easily the previous day made me fell quite a number of times. i blamed it on my weariness and my jelly legs, and also, wasn't feeling very well that morning... hence that too. conclusion of the day: even though the skiing wasn't as great as it could have been, the company was great. couldn't ask for more... especially when we were on the chairlift. ;) thanx alot dear... for spending the last opportunity of skiing on easy slopes for me, for being so patient, for tolerating my complaints and for looking after me. thankew. T_T
and that's my experience of the ski trip. lots of other minor stuff which i guess should be left to another time. hahaha... this post is getting too long. =)

last day of school!heehee... 4pm. i've packed my stuff and is ready to go. but we are only leaving the house at ard 5... an hour more. hence decided to make a little entry. heehee...
last day of sch... we have 1 hour of lecture. that's stupid. even the tribology lecture was pushed forward to yesterday. so why cant he juz cancel it?? especially when all we do today in that lecture is to go all the way to sch to watch 20 min of video... of which one of the two is an interview that he had with BBC, or whichever news channel. pure entertainment. doesn't even help in our studies at all. so why not just give us a free day off??? even though i had better tings to do... it's still not that bad for me, since i onli have to walk 5min to sch. imagine those who took 40min tube ride just to attend his lecture, learned nothing, and took another 40min tube ride home?? that's just too cruel.
haha... oh well, as a classmate said (name not disclosed to protect his identity =P), he can continue to do these for now... he'll know it when he received the SOLE evaluation next month. [SOLE is a feedback survey done by the school on the courses and lecturers we have] lots of negative feedback waiting for him. =X talking about SOLE, it's the first year that mech eng-ers bothered to do the survey and even reached the 3rd position!!! not that i cared about the prizes mech soc would get since i seldom go for their mince pie party session... but that's just so exciting especially when the position rise after you did the survey the day b4!!! haha.... i did my part. ;)
chongwai is still packing..... whereas weilun, melvin and edwin are still at their last round of mahjong. maybe i'll go grab some food while waiting. please pray for my safety.... and cya in 8 days time!!! adios!!!

end of termtml is the last day of the term. HOW FAST!!! it still feels as though it's mid nov to me! graaar... time seemed to fly this year man. so much faster than it ever had. >_<
tml is the first day of my ski trip!!! HOW FAST!!! have i bought everything i need oredi? guess so... haven't been expecting it so soon... haven't been keep track of the preparation needed. later better go and grab some tidbits for the 18 hour coach ride from london to the french alps. heehee... yeah, this dec hols i'm gonna go for skiing!!! a total of 8 days... will be back on 24th. i'm excited yet scared... not just scared of the cold, not just scared of falling down the cliff *choy*, but scared of the energy required too. my fitness have been deteriorating since JC2... cos i no longer do anymore exercise when there's no PE teacher around. hahaha... holding the squash racket for just 1 hour is enough to make my arm ache... wat about holding the ski poles for 7 days!!! not to mention the heavy ski boots, and also the butt ache due to the crabby side walk... as warned by lester. =( a torture!!! but oh well... apart from the stenuous work, many still feedback saying that it's a tremendously fun activity. so... i guess i should look forward to it. just pray that i can learn it fast enough so that i can start enjoying it b4 it's the end of the 8 days.
as for today, thank goodness the last lecture is cancelled. a long day becomes a relatively shorter day!! haha... but not tat good cos the lecture was cancelled bcos the lecturer is sick and wun b back till jan. and the lecturer is my supervisor for my lit research proj which i haven't confirmed with him what i have to write. so... have to depend on my luck liao.
but for today... i'll just finish up the show 'wu chu cai hong'. juz 3 more episodes b4 the final episode of 25th( i tink that's the final one... =P), i dun tink i can wait till after ski trip to watch. hahaha... yes i am a tv addict, esp for spore chi serials. =P i grow up watching them mah... and they are also the cause of me having to wear specs. hahaha...
oh... there's a new show coming up!!! hahaha... some comedy that's shown in time for chinese new year, have to do with fu lu shou one... edwin says it looked lame(i downloaded the preview), but i tink there's no harm in watching some funny show to relax and prepare myself for the chinese new year mood!!! heehee... i'm gonna start d/ling again!! =P
i tink i'm starting to feel that it IS the end of term. hahaa... i'm getting high. ;)

Happy Birthday!!haha... for a while i was wondering if our house can withstand the weight of so many people. today is the birthday celebration of edwin and eunice, in our house. so there's probably more than 30 pple in the house... not sure how many exactly, but the number of shoes at the corridor left no room for walking. took a pic of it... but not in my camera. so dun tink u'll get to see it. heehee..
we bought edwin an ipod video as his 21st birthday present. haha... edwin, if you are wondering why the gift is so "cheapskate" (shouted by i-cant-rmb-who juz now..) as to need 21 pple sharing it, now you know why. in any case, here's the list of pple sharing so that you know who to thank! haha... they are: lester, lianglong, yongcong, sydney, andrew, linhai, liangwei, ronald, raj, grace, jiamin, joy, marc, changyong, melvin, weilun, joseph, huimin, bingrong, chongwai and me. =) hope you like it. but u probably can only open this present tml... since you are now suffering from the after effect of 21 shots. haha..

i need time!to my horror, i just found out that my literature research project which is due the first week after xmas hols, has a weightage of the same as that of an entire module!!!!
*gasp*
some oredi have handed in their first draft to their supervisor!! draft?? i never tot of having a draft at all!! so far i've only read 2 articles... a total of 20 pages. of an A5 size book, if that helps. i don't even know enough about the topic to come up with a layout of my report. and i onli have 1.5 weeks left till the start of xmas hols... of which 1 week is spent in french alps, 1 week is spent on xmas, my bdae(heehee), new year, and hosting cairong who's coming from germany. so technically speaking, i only have a total of 1 week to continue with my research, to read whatever i've found, and to write the report which needs to be between 10-50 pages. can anyone do that at all?? i wonder.
and for now, i still have my CCM tutorial to finish by this Friday... and DMT project design to tie up by this term. Have I been slacking too much? probably. guess I'm gonna switch to mugger mode from now till i hand in this report, that is if i have the discipline in the first place. i just know i'm getting really stressed.
oh, besides those... the bugman came and left. luckily there's the strong pesticides smell to prove that the mess in my house is the doing of the pest control guys instead of burglars. i've been sleeping on my own bed since that night, and so far so good. no familiar bites. one or two of my housemates still got one or two new bites, but we are gonna wait and see. we were told that it takes abt 2 weeks for the pesticides to take full effect. so other than that, all is fine.
juz hope that the mouse we caught a while ago didn't leave many fleas behind in the house. jac told us that there are fleas on it. >_<

packingit's 2am, my clothes and things are packed, and i'm ready to fly back to spore!! only thing is i'm missing an air ticket...
the pest guys are coming tml to, hopefully, terminate the bed bugs... and that's why my entire household spend the whole of yesterday and today packing and vaccuming the floor... a preview of how it'ld be like in june eh~
i'm very happy by the fact that the pest guy would be coming to spray my whole house with pesticides... but i'm pretty irritated by the fact that i've to put everything back into my luggage and boxes just 2 months after i took them out and arranged them nicely. It's also quite sianz to be operating outside my own room. Guess i've no choice... sigh.
Just pray and hope that I can sleep comfortably on my bed again soon.
And in addition to all the pest problems, there were some burning/melting smell a few days back, and we realized some sockets in the kitchen has fused. seems like the landlord is gonna have more things to do b4 he can collect the next rent payment.
