CCM paperBefore any evaluation of the paper, just wanna express my gratitude to all of you who specially wished me 'Good Luck!!' for my exams~ so sweet of you peepz! =) Thank you~~~~ For those whose exams are nearing soon, "Good Luck to you tooo!!!" ;)
Today's paper is an open book exam. I guess I cannot say things like "I should have done better...." since all the information I need are right in front of me.
The paper went quite smoothly at the beginning. I did the questions one by one, skipping the last 1 or 2 parts of every question cos I couldn't really answer them. Attempting the 3rd question started to cause a little stir... it's the easiest question of the paper i think, but i'm stuck becos i duno what the equations for a vorticity vector and tensor are~ I don't rmb seeing them in my revision for this subject at all. Don't tell me I have to make use of my 2nd yr fluid mech knowledge!? who can rmb those?! Luckily, after flipping through the entire textbook twice, i found the most impt page which i didn't see at all nor come across when doing past yr papers. phew~ cold sweat!
The final question attempted took 1.5 hr of the 3 hr paper. And i think only 5 out of 25% is correct. =( As a 5 choose 4 paper, i chose the seemingly easier option of the last 2 questions. However i couldn't proof the 2nd part of the question, the 3rd part of the question looked a little ambiguous, and i cant think of any good example for the last part of the question. That's like... not knowing how to do almost the entire question!!! So i tried to do the other question. But it didn't help either, cos i cant even get 5%, i cant do the whole question!! *sigh* bobian... went back to the first option, and bluff my way through. still couldn't proof the 2nd part though, which i now suspect i got it wrong becos i interpreted the question wrongly hence the two results couldn't match. grrrrrr....
then with only 20 min left, i went back to finish up those parts of the questions left blank. To my horror, when there's only 5 min left, i realized i did half of another question wrongly! jialat lah~ i panic in that 5 min man... cos i know it's wrong, but i'm not too sure of the correct answer. so i just have to guess and anyhow substitute some values in it, scribbling as fast as i can afford, "liquid papering" the wrong ans so that i have space to write down the edited solution, mentally shifting the variables around so that i can save time writing another line of equation, etc. managed to finish editing what i want to change, but not even sure if it's correct. >.<
it's an easy paper for most people, but i guess an average one to me, with lots of heart attacks towards the 2nd half of the exam. if the qns i smoked thru are correct, i would expect quite a good mark. but if they turned out to be the other way round, then it doesn't look that good. but somehow i don't feel as bad, becos it being an open-book exam, i know it's the best i can do. I cant blame myself for not remembering certain equations or theory or anything. Everything that i have is in front of me. So, just have to hope for the best bah!

end of easter breakjust 1 more day to my 1st paper. yet i haven't studied anything at all today. recently i've been stoning quite alot and my efficiency is dropping dropping dropping. hence the attempt to spend some time blogging now in hope of getting back the mugging feel again, even though i dun see what the relation btw them is. lol~
it just doesn't feel right lah... having exams immediately after hols end. cos i wun have the peer pressure to motivate me to work harder when i realize i haven't been doing enough, as it had been for the past two years. and since it's still the easter break, the holiday feel hasn't really left. hmm.
even though i always had to suffer mugging thru the easter hols, cos even in yr 1 & 2 the exams are also relatively early, i still love the sudden season transition. all of a sudden, the days become so much longer after turning our clock 1 hr ahead. and i can smell the warmth in the air!! haha.. and i tink the trees look the cutest when the leaves just begin to grow. baby leaves are sooo cute!!!! yeah... always missed hyde park during this period. should go take a look soon.
lalalalala... hmm.
lalalalala....
....
..
.
i just dowan to start on my revision...
yet.
sigh.

notpronwell... i unknowingly wasted my time a little here:
http://deathball.net/notpron/opps.
it's similar to the previous 'Mystery of Time and Space Adventure'. but much tougher.. becos it expands the search out to the web address and even the source code. Damn difficult. I decided to give up and continue when i have more time later. heh..

i am so screwedThe title says it all. I am so gonna die. I'm not even demoralised. It's far beyond demoralisation. I have kinda accepted the fact that I cant do a single question on the exam paper.
I'm studying subject by subject. So far, I've finished 2, out of the grand total of 8. These 2 are the easiest of the 8, and i "finished" them by being able to complete 50% of each of the 2 past yr papers attempted. amazing achievement.
and today, i tried doing past yr papers of the 3rd subject. It's not even considered doing, cos after looking at every single question, I had to refer to the solution given. I didn't know where and how to tackle them. And the worst ting is, i don't understand the solution. for both papers 'attempted'. how clever i've become.
and that's not even the tougher subjects.
have been slacking too much i guessed. i started this hols with the mentality that i cant just mug, i need to relax when i want to. it is a holiday after all~ so i spent the entire 2 weeks with no stress at all. doesn't even feel like exam is approaching. but during dinner 2 nights ago, the stress hit me when bingrong said he's not stressed by exams at all. why? he only need to get a B to get his guaranteed first class. no wonder he looked so relaxed... somemore his exam is a little later than mine, with fewer papers i think.
urgh... time to buck up. need to start waking up earlier than 12pm (and that's when i sleep ard 1am!). hahaha... pig. =P ya... i really duno how to survive this time round. juz be prepared to die i guess. heh~

japanese VS spanishi'm thinking of continuing to study spanish at a slightly higher level... cos since i've oredi started with level 1, might as well learn it better right?? after all there wun be much chance for me to take up spanish anymore in spore even if i want to in the future...
but, japanese has been bugging me all the time. i am very interested in learning jap, and the reason why i didn't take it this yr was becos of the reason "since i'm in europe, might as well learn a european language right...." =P yalah... then these few days after watching one jap serial after another, the urge to learn it surface again. again~ urgh... but if i take it next yr, that'll mean i'll "master" both languages at the beginner level... not very useful huh? but i want to be able to understand (at least roughly) what the jap actors & actresses are talking about in the show without looking too much at the subtitles leh... >.<
it was between jap 1 and spanish 1 last yr. it's now between jap 1 and spanish 2 this yr. a similar yet different choice.... how!? please gimme some advice on how to go about choosing... urgh~~~

another oneHere's
another test i took, link accessed from eewen's blog.
**********************************************
My Personal Dna Report You are a Generous Realist.
Realist:
- Your attention to detail, appreciation of how things function, and awareness of the world around you make you a REALIST.
- Routines are reassuring to you?you feel safer and more at ease when sticking with familiar things.
- You like to stay close with those around you, seeking comfort from familiar faces.
- You are interested in processes?how things work, what they do, and why?not just how things look.
- Sometimes you doubt that you can find solutions to problems, although you have a good sense of why things happen, and can use that knowledge to find the best way to do something.
- You are down to earth, concerned more with practical, detail-oriented things than with dreamy or ambiguous ideas.
- You have a good sense of your abilities and weaknesses, and don't let your ego get in your way.
- You're not one to force your positions on a group, and you tend to be fair in evaluating different options.
- You prefer to have time to plan for things, feeling better with a schedule than with keeping plans up in the air until the last minute.
- Generally, you believe that you control your life, and that external forces only play a limited role in determining what happens to you.
Generous:
- Your awareness of those around you, along with your nuanced perceptions of the world at large, makes you the GENEROUS person that you are.
- You value time to yourself and understand how rich your private world can be?you know that you don't have to go wild to have a good time.
- You are excited and energized by ideas and often enjoy things more through observation than through experience.
- This tendency gives you an appreciation for different perspectives and opinions about the world.
- Being as aware of others as you are doesn't mean you find it easy to trust them immediately?this is something that happens more slowly for you.
- Despite this, you are aware of the complexities of many situations and are reluctant to pass judgments on others.
- Although you have fewer friendships than some people, those that you have are meaningful and are important to you.
- You value spending time alone?it is while reflecting on the world around you that you often learn something new about yourself or begin to understand something that's been bothering you.
If you want to be different:
- Appreciate that your skill set can be useful in many ways; your attention to detail and your familiarity with the inner-workings of things are valuable assets.
- Try looking beyond the earthly qualities of things in order to expand your perspective, without losing your grounding in reality.
- Given how attuned you are to others' thoughts and feelings, you might find that trusting people more is a way to broaden your perspective even further.
- While you know how much can be learned from observing the world around you, remember that much of life can be lived by experiencing it, not just by understanding it.
