Mech Eng is not a mickey mouse degree. It's just tat we dun complain. The title has nothing to do with this post. well... maybe a little. to emphasize on how tough the Mech Eng Yr 4s have been having it this yr. Strive on Yr 4s!
This week must be my most hectic week. ever. it's comparable to that week just before the Excess Baggage show days with rehearsals everyday.. if not even worse.
I need to juggle between my super pile of courseworks and projects deadlines, and going for my weekend trip! hahaha... and organising cw's birthday party. I've never seen such dark eye rings around my eyes b4. and the wrinkles are growing fast. =(
It was supposed to be a super relaxing
hols in Prague. A V-day + birthday celebration trip. With the AET coursework deadline on last Thurs and the next deadline 2 weeks later, the previous weekend is the free-est weekend I can find for a weekend trip. But it turned out to be one of the worst ones when the deadline was extended to the following Monday (didn't know whether to be thankful or irritated). As a piece of group work, I cant expect my group members to finish their task by Friday due to my personal stuff. And so, for the first time... I'm thankful my laptop is sooo small I can bring it along for the trip. yeah... thankfully internet was free at the hostel too. so I could do my work... in Prague. how romantic.
I tried very hard not to let it affect the trip... but as a super slow worker, I need loads of time. I stayed up late into the night to write the report and slept for onli 3-4 hrs each nite. That amt of sleep couldn't get me anywhere... I was so sleepy and lethargic. feeling super guilty for spoiling the trip. soooo sorry.. >_<
But well, other than the times when my head were heavy and my legs didn't want to move and my back was aching, we did had quite a bit of fun!!! The best part is that we had an apartment for 40 pounds a night!! it's a real apartment with a bedroom and a separate kitchen and bathroom!! not juz a room with stove and sink at the corner~ a real apartment!! schweeet~ we made fulll use of it and made a total of 3 meals there... onli cost abt 8.50GBP in total!!! hahahhaha... CHEAP CHEAP!!!
Which is why... we dedicated the 3rd day specially juz to SHOP!!!! lol... the price looks daunting but it's actually damn cheap. exchange rate is about 1GBP to 40CZK. transport fare is juz 50p for 75min travel, and 2GBP for 24hr pass. i got myself a pair of cheap stylo milo sunglasses... (a bit late but oh well, can use for easter or summer trip...) hee... and cw got a pair of cheap leather shoes too. muahahaha...
And the most amazing food there is... the HOTDOG!!! hahaha... just go and buy at any of those stalls along the streets (which i think are franchise cos they all look the same)... the hotdog is hot and CRISPY on the outside!!! oh man... it's wonderfully yummy. In the end CW and I each had 1 for brunch, and 1 for lunch. hahahaha... =P very nice.
too bad i didn't find my stroopwafel. =( super disappointed. nor the currywurst ketchup sauce. sigh. it's ok! i'll hunt for them on the next trip. heehee...
i returned back to London on Monday near midnight... then the next day, there's gift scouting and chinatown groceries shopping... and on wed, an entire day of cooking!!! really juz cooking. oh man. i feel like a housewife. =P i'm not very sure if the food is enough, but i did made an effort to cater for 40 pple. ok... a little less, since some pple say they r having dinner b4 coming. so far the feedback have been very encouraging, so i'll juz assume they are true. hahaha... i hope that everyone enjoyed themselves at the party and i didn't waste the day away in the kitchen for nothing. and of cos, i hope the birthday boy enjoyed himself. Cos the party is organised for u! =)
ok. a long enough post for me to take a long hiatus. hahahaha... cos i need to continue to work on my remaining 5 deadlines, 1 exam, the weekly meeting with my supervisor, and hopefully squeeze in a bit more fun elements before the term ends.
