Happy National Day!Happy Birthday Singapore!!! I'm sorry I forgot about your birthday yesterday even though i knew it all along. It doesn't help when I'm not having a holiday on your birthday.
Anyway, when all your people are celebrating for you either watching NDP at Padang or in front of the TV, poor me is having a terrible day.
For a start, i didn't sleep well yesterday and woke up with a heavy headache and i even thought i'm gonna have a fever. Then I had to face some unpleasant social event despite my partially malfunctioning brain not being able to think properly. Next, I had to travel in this 2 seater horribly made Toyota car, with seats so low I bet it's gonna touch the road, and the driver being someone I don't feel that comfortable being alone with. With my bum so close to the surface of the road, I could totally experience the G-forces. And together with my already spinning head, I had car sick right from the moment I tried to make myself comfortable in my seat after stepping into the car. I'm not one who experience motion sickness easily, so I was kinda wondering if it's for real or if it's my mind playing tricks on me since it's a good excuse to avoid making conversation with the driver.
Nonetheless, I reached the destination really feeling i'm on the verge of vomitting but thank goodness i made it there with no loss of fluid. Cos i think i cant afford to lose much fluid since I wouldn't be having any water or food for the rest of the day. I went around the sewage treatment plant for around 3 hours under the hot sun and foul smell, and a slightly giddy head. But other than those, i had quite a fulfilling afternoon becos for the first time, the site visit is more than juz a look see look see visit. I got to sit in at a meeting and was impressed by the professionalism of the lead engineer. I also got to look at the treatment plant in much more details than I otherwise would, as I had to take measurements and look out for potential routes for pipeworks for a new pumping station. So for a moment, I felt like a real engineer! haha...
After we were done with our work, I requested to travel back in the other car becos I was simply too paranoid to want to experience another 2 hrs of travel where my eye level is in line with the car plate of the car in front. i'ld rather take the train back if i had to sit in tat car again. so i had a much much more comfy ride back to the office, where i eventually had my sandwich, which was supposed to be my lunch, at 6pm.
i am dead beat. And National Day is over.
It's quite a pity I have to miss it cos I do enjoy watching it every year even though it's more or less the same. A pity I cant see the fireworks too. =( Hopefully I'll get to see the repeat telecast.. which I predict will be showing this Sunday at around 2pm and ends at about latest 5pm, and my plane will be touching down an hour later.
Yes I'll be home soon!!!!!! ^^

the end of a year's workafter a looooong looooong wait, at last, my result slip is here!!!!!! my gosh.... it's a terrible feeling waiting for a mail in another country when your family members dun regularly open the letterbox everyday. and i feel very bad pestering my bro and sis every other day to go check the letterbox too. =P so... after a long anxious wait, my result slip is here one week after everyone else had received theirs and any sort of commotions had long died down.
it's one thing knowing ur overall grade, and it's another thing knowing the exact marks. 60 and 69 makes a great difference, especially when it accounts towards a huge percentage of the year. when my sis was announcing my marks to me, my heart nearly stopped when i heard 128 over 200 marks for literature research.. it doesn't help that they didn't calculate that in percentage, i thought i almost failed! but then again, for what people spent 3 months doing and i completed within 3 weeks, and thank goodness without obvious plagerism, i guess it's a pretty decent score and i shouldn't complain. hahaha....
as it turned out to be, my lousiest examined subject is the subject which i've intended not to do well in- SPAP, though i must say i have no clue how i got that 70% when all except 2 pple in my room left 1 hr b4 me and i haven't seen all those repeated questions b4 at all!!! i still recalled a yr back i was thinking whether to take this subject or not cos i'm not tat interested in polymers nor answering questions in words, but i still took it eventually cos someone was telling me it's easy to score as long as i'm willing to memorise everything. i guess i should have known better, that i'm the worst in memory work~ my memorising only started the day b4 the paper! says alot abt how much i like the subject huh... but i'm really lucky to have got an A for it.
and miraculously, my highest 2 subjects were the only 2 subjects which i had done NO tutorial questions at all for the yr, and i was so not confident that i was contemplating b4 easter hols whether to drop 1 of them. thanx to chihyang who encouraged me to spend just a few days on it and try out the past yr papers to decide if i shud sit for the paper. thanks alot!!!
well, all in all... i'm very satisfied with my results. haha... i dun tink i've said that for quite many yrs. i guess it's bcos this time round, despite the time constraint, there was no distraction and i was really able to totally put my heart in revising, which helped alot in creating less stress and hence more efficient studying. And so whatever the result is, I know it's the best I could have done and there's no regrets at all. I guess that's why I'm much more anxious to find out how i did too, cos it reflects more accurately how well i could do. but of cos, such a good studying environment wouldn't be there if not for this one person which made everything so much easier for me. the one who tried to comfort me and helped me relax during my stressed out and panicky times, the one who saved me time by helping me run errands, the one who accompanied me all the while to keep me focused on my work... basically the one who removed and deflected all my worries and troubles away to keep me happy and focused. thank U so much. *beam*
