detailed paper analysis part IIThe six days break was supposed to be used for mugging my last 2 papers which were both on my last day of exam. Hence I didn't touch these 2 subjects at all during my easter hols revision. But my lack of discipline made me slack for 2 whole days before I start looking at my Stats notes and compare them with the notes obtained online to see if I am missing any of them.
in 2 days, I found out what the syllabus consisted of and did 2 past yr papers. Was intending not to study for FEAA and just go in with just my notes since it's open book. but luckily lester brought my attention to its difficulty and made me look at some of the questions... so I started to panic. Even though i was planning to make it my extra subject cos I handed in a slip-short report for its coursework, that doesn't mean I can fail the paper right!! yah.. and my stats is not very steady oso. Only study for 3 days leh.. of cos not steady rite... It's supposed to be the easiest of all my papers this year so all the more I cant screwed it up!! That would be such a joke!
having 2 papers on the same day is not fun. it felt like my entire day was spent in the exam hall and nothing else. with less than an hr of lunch break btw the 2 papers, i even made sure i buy my lunch b4 the long queue arrived. luckily it's my LAST day of exam so i can afford to rest and play after that.
stats turned out to be more difficult that the past 4 yrs. ok.. i shall clarify my definition of difficulty here. since it's a paper which used to have an average mark for 70+%, naturally i should aim to score higher than that right?? and tat also meant it's supposed to be a paper easy enough so that pple can leave b4 time is up? i was hoping for tat so that i can have a longer lunch break. hee... i dilly dally at the beginning by writing slowly and neatly, since i thot there'll b loads of time. but in the end i couldn't even complete the 1st qn... =( binomial and poisson are so confusing I cant decide which one to use. the day b4 I was still looking at this past yr qn and i told myself if it comes out again i sure duno how to do. urgh. then 2nd qn, unbiased estimator. piangz... i didn't study the derivations!! so i stared at it hard and long for 15min b4 a brainwave struck me and i managed to do it. phew~ that was lucky!! and that chi-sq test... i stared at that ambiguous piece of info for 5 minutes and made a guess what it meant so that i could proceed with the test. shud have left it blank first cos half an hr later the lecturer went to the board and clarified it. but i still made a very fundamental mistake in the test (observed and expected frequencies are way off!) and thaaaank goodness i discovered it 10 min b4 time's up. so still had enough time to change and redo the test. yalah, tat means i didn't leave the exam room b4 time's up... and again, i end up still writing in the last few minutes. sianzz..
took a quick lunch break and i ended up back in the same room an hr later. since i oredi gave up revising for it, i went in with a 'haf fun' attitude. it's after all the last exam paper of my student life! i dun really know whether this paper is easy or tough but other than the 1st 2 qns, which is onli a total of 8%, the rest are purely guesswork. it's the typical kind of open-book exam where the materials have not much use at all. i left a few qns (which is like 6-8% each) at the back empty cos i didn't even haf the time to read them.
with that, my exams ended. forever. didn't feel as high as i did after my AET paper since that's when my exams had unofficially ended. =P was a bit disappointed by my lack of 'relief' and 'joy'. at the same time it also felt a bit unreal that this annual routine of slacking-revising-exam will not repeat anymore.
